Lorne G. Shotwell

Lorne G. Shotwell  of Lewiston, NY,  passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2021.   He was born in Tunkhannock, PA, on December 21, 1932,  a son of the late Murray and Marion [Sickler] Shotwell.

Mr. Shotwell graduated from the University of the State of New York, where he earned his Associate's degree.

He was a veteran of the United States military where he served for 32 years in the National Guard and the Air Force.   During his time with the Air Force, he served in the Korean war.

He was a proud member of the Masons and a Shriner for over 50 years.

Mr. Shotwell was an avid golfer and enjoyed working part time at the Niagara Falls Country Club golf course until 2018 and also enjoyed woodworking.

He was a devoted grandfather and loved attending his grandson's hockey and baseball games. He also spent many years as a youth football and baseball coach in Niagara Falls where he made lifelong friends.

Mr. Shotwell  and his wife enjoyed spending their winters in Punta Gorda, FL for 26 years.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret "Marge"  [McQuillan] Shotwell,  a son Lorne (Tara) Shotwell, two daughters Kim (Robert) Gnann, and Lori (Richard) Jones, grandchildren Jillian (Christopher) Latchford, Danielle (Jonathan) Snell, Lorne, Tyler, Nicholas Shotwell and Nicol Gnann, 7 great-grandchildren, a brother Dale (Carol) Shotwell, a sister in law Patricia (Charles Davis) Schmitz and a son in law Daniel Rhoney, also many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Shotwell was the father of the late Traci A. Rhoney and brother of the late Herb and Clesson Shotwell.

A private service will be held for his immediate family.

Memorials may be made in his name to Shriners Hospital for Children
