Louise Ellen Walker (Coney)

Louise Ellen Walker (Coney)  entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.  She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on July 29, 1940, to the late Josephine E. [Bongiovanni] Walker. 

An only child, Louise was a life-long resident of Niagara Falls, with the exception of a short stint in New York City, with her long-time friend, Sandra Monti.

In her 79 years of life, Louise worked diligently in many capacities.  Her favorite endeavor was being the owner and operator of Pine Plaza Coffee Shop.  During her ownership, Louise quickly became well- known for her cooking and baking skills, and many people flocked to the establishment to enjoy her efforts and hospitality.

After selling the restaurant in the mid 1980’s, Louise began a new journey working for the Niagara Falls City School District, as secretary to her dear friend, Cynthia Bianco. Never to shy from hard work, Louise was also employed by Bell Aerospace, The Elk’s Lodge and Tops Markets, to name a few. 

In her spare time, Louise enjoyed ceramics, playing poker and trying her luck at the local casino.

Louise is survived by her three cherished children Angela L. Manella and Francis J. Coney III (Niagara Falls City School District) and Joelle M. Coney, all of Niagara Falls, NY, her greatest joys was six grandchildren  Zachary Krebs (USN), Robert Krebs, Jackson Krebs (USN), Joseph Krebs, Luisa  (David) Stahlman  and Hunter O’Donoghue, among her fondest memories, was the birth of her great-granddaughter, Chloe Stahlman, also survived by a nephew, Joseph Calato, and his children, Carol, Cathy and Joseph.  Certainly not to be left unmentioned, she adored her two fur-grandchildren, Riley and Oscar.

Louise was predeceased by her dear aunts and uncles Angela Bongiovanni Calaty, Charles Bongiovanni, Grace Bongiovanni, Frances Bongiovanni Marchese and Frank Bongiovanni.

At Louise’s request, there will be no prior visitation or memorial service.  She will be laid to rest in a private service in California, at the wishes of her family.  

Angela and Frank would like to thank the staff at Elderwood, Grand Island for their patience, and the nursing staff at Kenmore Mercy ICU and 2 West Palliative Care, for providing their mother with the comfort and compassion she received during her final days.
