Lynn Arnold "Spud" Williams of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, in the Erie County Medical Center.
He was a member of the Onondaga Eel Clan and raised on the Tuscarora Nation.
He was born on March 21, 1943 in Niagara Falls, the son of the late Alfred Williams and Alma Leah [Johnson] Williams.
He graduated from Niagara Wheatfield in 1961 and attended Johnstown University in Pennsylvania. He received his BS in Chemistry from Niagara University. He was a Chemist at Occidental Chemical (formally Hooker Chemical) for over 30 years and retired from PD Glycol in Beaumont, TX in 2003. After which he returned to Western New York.
He enjoyed golfing, playing Clan League basketball and fast pitch softball for many years. He was a NY Yankees superfan, who wore his gear proudly and attended games in New York, Toronto, and Arlington. He was an avid coin collector, and enjoyed gardening. He held his culture close to his heart and his Native American art collection which included several paintings, pottery, artwork, sculptures, sweet grass baskets, and books. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Patricia (Falbo), six children, Michele, Jennifer, Lisa, Leslie, Emily (Corey), and Scott (Kelly), twelve grandchildren, Sloan, Caitlin, Ethan, Todd Jr., Samuel, Christopher, Broderic, Taylor, Alexis, Zachary, Dakota, Corbin, and two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Jolie and was the brother of Lilli Rae (Hubert) Swanson, Alfred, Karl (Cindy), and Wendell (Kim) Williams, also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His family will be present on Sunday from 4:00-7:00 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Tuscarora Baptist Church, 2208 Mt. Hope Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Walter A. Printup III officiating.
Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, on the Tuscarora Nation.
