Margaret "June" M. Root

Of Lockport, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Lockport Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 18, 1925,  a daughter of the late
Thomas C. and Mae [Donovan] Mullane. 

June graduated from St Mary's High School in 1943 and attended Niagara University. She had a long career with New York Telephone Co.,  where she held several positions and was  the first woman in Western New York to be appointed a Business Office Manager for the Company.

June was an active member of All Saints Parish, Lockport, Ladies of Charity, Legion of Mary, Niagara County Ecumenical Choir, The Telephone Pioneers of America and the NiagaraOrleans Ladies Golf League. 

She was the the beloved wife of the late Arthur P. Root. June is survived by her brother Jerome T (Sarah)  Mullane  and Jill McCoy, several nieces, great nieces and nephews, and grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Bernadette (Richard) Balliet and Jacqueline (Michael )Walsh and was the aunt of the late Richard Balliet, Jr.

Interment in Colds Springs Cemetery, Lockport, NY.
