Obituary

Marguerite I. Marks, 104, of North Tonawanda, NY,  passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, lovingly cared for by the staff at the Mt. View Assisted Living, Lockport, NY.   She was born in Lindsay, Ontario, on October 25, 1917, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Ida [O’Brien] Alger.

She was the youngest of 12 children.   Mrs. Marks moved to North Tonawanda in 1948 from Toronto. She was a sales representative with Hens & Kelly’s for many years.

She was an active member of the North Presbyterian Church and involved with many of the social activities at Wheatfield Towers.

Mrs. Marks was the wife of Joseph J. Marks, who passed away in 1993 and the late Albert G. Bruce, who passed away in 1974.

She is survived by two daughters Donna (Walter) Freiert and Deborah A. (Roger) Koch, four grandchildren Kevin (Cathy) and Brenda Freiert , Geoffrey and Paul (Caroline) Koch, three great-grandchildren Heather (Mike)  McCullen, Jamie (Luis) Roger and Greyson Koch,  two great-great-grandchildren Harper and Lennon Roger, also many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the North Presbyterian Church, 168  Payne Avenue, North Tonawanda, NY.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Church or Niagara Hospice.

Mrs. Marks donated her body to the Jacobs School of Medicine.

Arrangements were made through the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, Sanborn, NY.
