Maria B. Helie

Maria B. Helie of  Niagara Falls, NY,  passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022, in the Weinberg Campus.  She was born in Smokey Lake, Alberta, Canada, on April 20, 1921,a daughter of late Sam and Tekla (Lototski) Bojarchuk.

Mrs. Helie moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario in 1942 before moving to Niagara Falls, NY in 1946.

She was a Foster Mother for several years and later became a chamber maid at downtown Holiday Inn for over 25 years before retiring in 2000. Mrs. Helie was an active member with the Epiphany Episcopal Church  Women's Club. She enjoyed listening to Polkas, Waltz, walking, gardening, reading.

She was the wife of the late Albert A. Helie, who passed away in 1967. Mrs. Helie is survived by three daughters Patricia (William) McGrath, Arlene (Duane) Mazur and Deanna Helie, five grandchildren Mary, Michael, Lisa, Victor and Adam, a sister Eve Boyd, also many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Helie was the sister of the late  John, William and Peter Bojarchuk, Anne Puregh and Phyllis Lamoureux.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 at Oakwood Cemetery, 763 Portage Road, Niagara Falls, NY.
