Was born to eternal life on January 14, 2026 at the age of 88. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, James V. Glynn, on December 28, 2025. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 26, 1937, she was the oldest child of Michael and Honora (Shanahan) Gallagher.
Mary was blessed in life with five children who survive: Mary Jo (late Dennis) Farrell, Paula (Gary) Fiore, Christopher (Michelle) Glynn, Tricia (Patrick) Hanley and Elisabeth (Joseph) Ieraci; 17 grandchildren: Andrew (Hayley), Spencer (Nicoletta), Connor and Serena Farrell; Lauren (Josiah) Sleewa, Nora (Kevin) Costanzo, and Brendan (Kendra) Fiore; Christopher, Jr. and Isabelle Glynn; Thomas, James, Michael,and Elisabeth Hanley; Nicholas (Jessica), Matthew, Jonathan (Anna), and Patrick Ieraci; and 8 great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her sister Margaret Gallagher, SSJ, brothers-in-law John Kinner (late Patricia) and Donald (Diane) Glynn, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary is predeceased by her brother Michael (late Sandra) Gallagher, sister Patricia Gallagher Kinner, son-in law Dennis J. Farrell and grandson James M. Fiore.
Mary’s family was paramount in her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love and wisdom guided and sustained her children and empowered her children’s children to embrace the promise of their lives.
Together with her husband James, Mary established a legacy of community involvement and philanthropy, to include: the Diocese of Buffalo Catholic Charities; Our Lady of Victory Charities; The AKG Art Museum; Heart, Love and Soul; Francis Center; Niagara University; Nardin Academy and Canisius High School.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday January 23, 2026, at the Niagara University Alumni Chapel. Family will be gathering at the University at 9:30 AM to receive those who wish to visit prior to the liturgy. All are welcome.
Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
