Mary A. Hvozda of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020, in her home under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 21, 1946, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary [Kachurek] Hvozda.
Mary graduated from Niagara Falls High School, Deaconess Nursing School and from Niagara University.
She was a Registered Nurse at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Deaconess Hospital where she did her nursing training and at Buffalo General Hospital, before retiring in 2006.
Mary loved to go shopping, taking care of her flower gardens and her pets.
She is survived by her sister Margaret (late Edwin) Niewiadomski, a niece Karen (David) Swenson, great aunt of Grant and Holly Swenson, her best friend of 34 years Lori (Michael) Streb and her loving dog Madison.
Mary was the sister of the late Loretta Franklin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church at a future date.
Memorials may be made in her name to Parkinson Disease Association or Niagara Hospice.
Private entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
