Mary E. Malaney

Mary E. Malaney, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2020 at Schoellkopf Health Center.  A lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, she was born on January 1, 1938, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Helen [O’Keefe] Brophy.

Having attended local schools, Mary or Marybeth as she was more commonly known, was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. Following graduation, she was employed with the Bell Telephone Co. and Learner’s Clothing Store for many years.

She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Malaney, Jr., who predeceased her in July 1995.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and an avid reader who enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children Brian (Karen) Malaney, Timothy (Elizabeth) Malaney and Monica (Mark) Rossman; eight grandchildren Sean, Brian, Meghan (Michael) Rossman-LeBlanc,  Maura (Frank) Dimino, Mark Rossman, Michael, Mason and Kyle Clayton, a great granddaughter Alia and was the sister of Arthur (Susan) Brophy, Mark (Rosanna) Brophy and Frances (late Joseph) Fournier and sister-in-law to Mary (Maynard) Crampton, also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers Michael (Jennifer) Brophy and Brother Thomas P. Brophy, Jr., O.S.F.S.

Due to recent circumstances, interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery will be held privately for family. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Schoellkopf Health Center or Niagara Hospice.
