of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully, though unexpectedly in the early morning of January 24th, 2026. She was 63 years old. Moira was born in Parsippany, NJ, on March 12, 1962, the daughter of Frank Kruse and the late Maureen [Chaplin] Kruse.
The Kruse family moved to Williamsville when Moira was in seventh grade, where she made lifelong friends. In 1980, Moira enrolled at St. Bonaventure University, where she met Tim Ireland. Tim and Moira married in 1989 and were together for 36 wonderful years. They have two children Joe, 33 who married Emily Jackson in 2023, and Meghan, 30.
Moira had a successful career at Revlon and worked while Tim pursued his PhD. They arrived at Niagara University in the winter of 1996. They have been a part of the Niagara community for the last 30 years. Like in Williamsville, Moira accrued another close circle of friends. Moira left Revlon in 2016 to enjoy retirement.
She loved to attend her kids’ sporting events, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, Irish step dancing and spending time with family and friends, both of which were a priority in her life.
Moira had a beautiful, infectious laugh, and was fiercely loyal to her family and friends. She loved Kylemore Abbey, the Cliffs of Moher, and almost any pub in Ireland with traditional Irish music. Moira was a fierce competitor in Euchre and Scrabble, she believed in adhering to rules, and she loved a good house party with family and friends.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by her children Joe (Emily) and Meghan, her sister and brothers Catherine (Anthony) Moraco, Frank (Mary) Kruse, and Stephen (Aimee) Kruse, Tim's siblings Bridget (Christopher) Cafaro, Andrew (Danielle) Ireland, and Sarah (Kyle) Milko, and her many nieces and nephews.
The support and outpouring of love is a testament to how she lived her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Niagara University or the Heart Association in her honor.
