Nettie K. Lamar

Nettie Lamar of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, September 4th, 2021, at her residence.  Nettie was born in Alcoa, TN on July 20, 1936, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary [Dean] Sykes.

Nettie moved to Niagara Falls, NY in August of 1948. She was employed with Harrison Radiator in Lockport before retiring in 1991. Nettie cherished her family dearly and loved playing bingo and her “numbers”, she enjoyed listening to old gospel music and watching old western movies on television.

Nettie was the wife of 28 years to the late William F. Lamar Sr., who passed away in 1980. Nettie will be lovingly and fondly missed by her children, Norma Brown, Allison (Willie) Moore, Regina (Lenworth) Northover, Charles G. Lamar, grandchildren, Ebony (Ilyaas) Lamar-Shaaf, Dr. Lawanda (John) Lamar-Bellamy, Tanisha Moore, William (Wendi) Dussett, Lester Lamar Jr., Antonio Lamar Sr., Deaeth Moore, Brooklyn Northover, Brandon Northover and 14 great-grandchildren, including Tashyana (Kevin) Lamar-Agee, a sister Sarah (James) Malone, and also many great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Nettie was the mother of the late William F. Lamar Jr. and Lester Lamar Sr. and sister of the late Charles Sykes, Mary Brown, Eloise Stevenson, Equilla Scott and James Sykes.

Private Funeral Services will be held.

Inurnment in Riverdale Cemetery.
