Paul Allen Medlock of Worthington, OH, passed away on December 28, 2024 after a short but valiant battle with an aggressive cancer. Born in Paducah, KY on February 16, 1969 to Glenn Allen Medlock and Joyce Elizabeth Roberson.
Paul attended the National Education Center, Skadron Campus San Bernadino, where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering and Electronics Technologies in 1992. He relocated to Niagara Falls, NY in 2004 with TeleTech Holdings, which spanned a 25-year career in IT Engineering and Leadership. The workplace was also where he met his soulmate and true partner in life, Krista Ann Juras, before relocating to Columbus, OH in 2012 and making her his wife in 2016.
Paul was well-known for his kind and gentle heart and especially for his love of Star Trek, pumpkin pie, and animals. A sharer of love and light, with his altruistic approach, it was easy for Paul to make friends wherever he went.
His father-in-law, the late Jim Juras, often said Paul had the Midas Touch, due to a keen eye and a knack to fix anything handed to him, without any leftover parts nor a manual, and often, in record time.
In his spare time, Paul could be found immersed in a stargazing app journeying among the stars from home, or away from the city lights and bustle at quiet NY and OH lake front or wood cabin retreats. Most often, he enjoyed the best skyviews from the captain's seat in the backyard hot tub with his beloved wife. In recent years, Paul was able to checkmark Kennedy Space Center in FL, Griffith Observatory in CA, the Neil Armstrong Museum in OH, and Kitt Peak, AZ off of the bucket list.
Paul would never turn down a good read on the modern approaches to space travel, or the possibilities behind the theories of what zero-point energy could have to offer humankind, thus sparing the planet from further environmental harm. His true passion being continuous investigation on high efficiency fronts when not immersed in the day to day, no doubt he would have been a solid contributor to the many research efforts in his retirement years had he made it to the finish line. But for now my darling, you can drift upwards and away, moving freely through the depths of space to explore the universe and beyond, my handsome angel.
He is survived by wife, Krista (Juras) Medlock; mother Elizabeth Joyce Barbeau; brothers Brian Medlock, Aaron Oidtman, and Darrell Caldwell; sisters Sherry (Scott) McClain and Danielle Caldwell; a daughter, Ashlee Medlock, multiple nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Dorothy (late Jim) Juras, sister-in-law Rachel (William) Smith, brother-in-law John (Diondra) Juras, many loving neighbors and friends, and he will be dearly missed by furry friends Xena and Aurora.
Special thank you to RN's Meagan and Shawn on OSU's CARE Team, whom kept us laughing and made the moments of treatment like being at a friend's house, Paul looked forward to seeing you both every time. Thank you also to the staff at Heartland Hospice for your upmost care for Paul and the family in his final days.
There will be no prior visitation.
