Phyllis M. Caputi

Of the Town of Pendleton, NY passed away on Sunday, November 19, at her residence under the care of her family and 24/7 caregiver Jaqueline H. and Niagara Hospice.  She was born in Buffalo, NY on January 13, 1937, a daughter of the late Frederick H. and Helen A. [Zimmer] Gerhard.

Mrs. Caputi graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and from Sister's Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. She was a Registered Nurse with the Buffalo Industrial Medical Center for 19 years retiring in 1979. Mrs. Caputi was one of a few radiological technicians in the area  and was a member of several nursing associations.

She moved to Pendleton in 1980 and enjoyed horse back riding, traveling and bird watching.

Mrs. Caputi was the wife of the late Dr. Robert A. Caputi, who passed away in 2008.

She was the stepmother of Susan Caputi, Ronald C. (Walter Ingetti) Caputi, Linda (Gerald) Bersche, Judith (Truitt) McKinney and the late Anthony R. Caputi,  stepgrandmother of Anthony, Michael, Katie, Corey and Rhonda, aunt of Cindy (Mark) Vivian, David (Kriste) Gerhard, Christopher (Linda Berlinger) Gerhard and Jason  (Ashley) Gerhard and great aunt of Jacob, Joshua, Collin, Carter, Jonathon, Tomas, Brittany, Graycen and Noah.

Mrs. Caputi was the sister of the late Paul and James (Anne) Gerhard.

Her family will be present on Tuesday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.  Everyone is invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY.

Memorials may be made in her name to Niagara Hospice.

Interment in White Chapel Memorial Park.
