Polly M. (Mathis) Morris, 63, of Niagara Falls entered into eternal rest on May 24, 2013 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and friends after suffering from a brief illness.
She was born in New Albany, Mississippi, on November 21,1949, the daughter of the late Arthur B. and Eula (Hill) Johnson.  

Sister Polly grew up and attended B.F. Ford High School in New Albany before moving to Niagara Falls in 1972.  She was employed at the Best Western, Mt. Saint Mary's Nursing Home and retired from the city of Niagara Falls Bus Company after becoming disabled in 1985.  
Sister Polly enjoyed attending church, playing bingo, visiting the sick, cooking, watching over her neighborhood and most of all enjoying her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children Bernadette Mathis, Christina (Eric) Mathis-Dixon, Marcus Mathis all of Niagara Falls, three sisters Tonnie Ann (Columbus) Gray, Mary Lynn (Charles) Sanders both of New Albany, Mississippi and Stephanie Dozier of Barlett, Tennessee; four dear friends Lawrence Bullard, Adell Clarke, Carol Ann Petteway and Marilyn Oliver; nine special grandchildren De'Andre Mathews, Cashmire Simmons, Jeffery Goldsmith Jr, Saquon Blackmon, Markeisha Mathis, Aderona Blackmon  Jovan Mathis, Joseph Dixon  and Xavier Piazza-Mathis, one great grand daughter Genesis Mathews, sister in law of Eugene Frazier.  Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews,and great nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Burnie Frazier, Ruby Jean Johnson, Betty Jean Johnson, Jan L. Lipsey, Vivian Ingram and  Catherine L. Johnson.

The family will be present on Thursday from 10-12:00 PM, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 1334 Calumet Avenue,  Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. Gary Jackson officiating.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
