Raymond E. Fegley

Raymond E. Fegley of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022,  surrounded by family in Mount St. Mary's Hospital.  He was born in Buffalo, NY, on August 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Clement and Teresa (Linnane) Fegley.

Ray graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1963.  He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from September 1963 until his honorable discharge in September 1967.  He was a cable splicer on the Minuteman Missile Program in Cheyenne, WY.  After returning from the service,  he became a member of Carpenters Local #280 for over 30 years, retiring in 2000.  He was a member of the Sanborn Historical Society and volunteered at the Sanborn Farm Museum.

Ray was always willing to lend a helping hand.  In his leisure he enjoyed traveling, particularly his trips to Normandy and the Galápagos Islands.   He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, doing projects around his home, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Ray was the loving husband of his wife of 51 years, Frances A. (Kalita) Fegley; a devoted father to Shawn (Leslie Kilpatrick) Fegley and Shannon (Michael) Day; and cherished grandfather to Lily, Luke, Aiden, and Keegan.

He was the father of the late Duane and Steven Fegley.

His family will be present on Monday from 4-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY, followed by funeral services with military honors at 7:00 PM, with the Rev. James R. Bastian officiating.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Sanborn Area Historical Society or Sanborn Fire Company.

Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
