Richard C. Bowman

Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY.  He was born in Valley View, PA on September 1, 1930, a son of the late Ray and Carrie [Starr]  Bowman.

Mr. Bowman served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  After returning from the service, he graduated from Penn State and was a forester before moving to  Sanborn in 1965.  He was a senior research chemist at Durez Chemical for over 33 years, retiring in 1993.

Mr. Bowman was a member of the Wheatfield American Legion Post and was an avid sportsman.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Barbara A. [Miller] Bowman, his children Debra L. Dwyer, Richard C. (Sandra) Bowman, II and Linda S. (Bob Graesser) Bowman, grandchildren Dale Fenzel, Alexa (Charlie) Soldano, Lindsey (Giancarlo) Iuorio, Stephanie Bowman and Ryanne Dwyer, great-grandchildren Gulianna, Gabriella, Marianna and Jack.

Mr. Bowman was the grandfather of the late Cullen Dwyer.

Private funeral services will be held at the wishes of his family.

Inurnment with Military Honors in the Western New York Cemetery, Corfu, NY.
