Richard DeVantier Obituary
Richard P. DeVantier of the Town of Cambria, NY, passed away on Friday December 20, 2019 at his home. He was born in Lockport, NY, on July 20, 1949, a son of Ruth E. (Mueller) DeVantier and the late Elmer A. DeVantier.
Mr. DeVantier graduated from Starpoint and then served in the US Army during the
Vietnam War.
He was a production worker with Harrison Radiator in Lockport for over 30 years, retiring
in 1999.
Mr. DeVantier continued to operate the family farm and was an active member of St. Andrew
Lutheran Church and a member of the NRA and Farm Bureau.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother Robert (Susan) DeVantier, two sisters
Susan (late William) Thompson and Sharon (Kenneth) Walker, also many nieces, nephews
and cousins.
His family will be present on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL
HOME, 5983 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at
11:00 AM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 3229 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, NY, with the
Rev. Kurt D. Schultz officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to St. Andrew Church.
Interment with Military Honors in St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
