Robert "Bob" A. Linn of Lewiston, NY, passed away September 21, 2021. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on September 29, 1927, the son of James and Miriam [ Jordan ] Linn, where he attended local schools. He was a graduate of LaSalle High School in 1945.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He later attended Ball State, where he graduated in 1950 and went on to receive his mater's degree in education in 1952. Bob then moved to Victorville, CA, where he began his teaching career at the Victor Valley High School, as a social studies teacher, and later to Anaheim, CA, where he taught the last 23 years at Savanna High School in the Anaheim Union High School District, from 1957-1984. He then served as swimming and water polo coach in Brea, CA, for four years, prior to retiring in 1988.
Bob served as president of the Anaheim Teacher's Association, and was an active member of the City of Anaheim CA, Redevelopment Commission.
He moved to Lewiston, NY, in 1998, following his marriage to Carol J. Brandon, the Town of Lewiston, NY, Town Clerk. He has served as a member of the Town of Lewiston Zoning Board since 2004 and served as it's chairman.
Bob's favorite hobby was duplicate bridge where he was an MACBL Gold Life Member.
He was predeceased by his wives Marilyn Carr who passed in 1983 and Carol J. Brandon who passed away in 2018.
Surviving are his children, Janis Linn, Robin [ Ken ] Dressel, Jennifer [ Doug ] Godown, his step children, Karen Ballistera, Kathy [ Dennis ] Winkler, Robert Pokrzyk, Steven [ Stacie ] Pokrzyk, 8 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private services were held at the convenience of his family.
