Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025 in the Schoellkopf Health Center. He was born in Rochester, NY, on February 19, 1926, the son of the late Elmer A. and Louise F. [Wagner] Schoenherr.
Robert moved to Niagara Falls with his parents in 1932. He attended St. Mary's Grammar and high school, graduating in 1943. Robert joined the US Army Air Corp after high school and served in Pacific Theatre during World War II.
He attended and graduated from Niagara University in 1950 with a B.B.A. degree majoring in accounting. After graduating from Niagara University, he worked for the US Department of Justice as a special agent in the FBI from 1950-1954. He returned back to Niagara Falls in 1954 and became an owner and partner with Harold B. Beach, operating Niagara Frontier Exterminating Service for over 37 years, before retiring in 1991. After his retirement, he became a Funeral Service Associate with the Rhoney Funeral Home for 15 years, retiring in 2007.
He was the husband of 68 years to the late Marilyn J. [Neville] Schoenherr, who passed away in March of 2018, they were married on August 20, 1949 in Sacred Heart Church.
Robert is survived by his children James R. (Brenda) and Thomas J. (Donald Bertucci) Schoenherr, Sue A. (Steven) Hosey, Karen L. (late Stephen) Roberts and Patricia J. (Jeffrey) Beresheski, a sister in law Mary Beth Miller, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
Everyone is invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 12:00 PM at St. Vincent dePaul Parish, Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.
Memorials may be made in his name to the St. Vincent dePaul Society or the Lions Club.
Entombment with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
