SHIRLEY A. BURKE
Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was was born in Philipsburg, PA, on July 4, 1936, a daughter of the late Paul and Relem [Vroman] Mayhew.
Shirley moved to Niagara Falls in 1947 and had attended locals schools.
After raising her family, she became a sale representative at Century and Jenss and then was employed with her son, at Heritage Auto and her daughter, at the Heart of Child day care.
She was a member of the Ladies AOH, the Elks Club and a former member of Sacred Heart Church.
Shirley enjoyed crocheting, her Tuesday night card club, ceramics and going on cruises.
She will be remembered as the life of the party being the first to arrive and the last to leave.
Shirley was the wife of 62 years to the late Vincent F. Burke, Sr., who passed away in February of 2016.
She is survived by two daughters Pamela (late Paul) Kaczmarzyk and Janice (late Joseph) Mistretta, three sons Vincent F. (Cindy) Burke, Jr., Christopher (Kate) Burke and Michael (Suzanne) Burke, fifteen grandchildren Timothy (Amy), Julia (Tom) Budden, Natalie, Marc (Carly), Sean (Kateyln) , Sarah, Katie, Stephanie (Arthur) Blessing, David, Vincent, III, Elizabeth, Claire, Reed, Ethan, Molly, nine great grandchildren Avianna, Michaela, Levi, Leo, Lucas, Archer, Adeline, Myles and Emmett, a brother Vince (Darlene) Canosa, a sister Theresa (Thomas) Steinmetz, sister-in-law of Thomas, Kathy and Gilbert Burke and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Paul, Chuck, Timothy Mayhew and Jeanne Ogrodowski.
Her family will be present on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY.
Everyone is invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY, with the Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to the Niagara County SPCA.
