Sister Agnes Lucille Schubert, OSF passed away on January 11, 2021 at Stella Niagara Health Center. Sister was born in Buffalo, NY, January 2, 1923, the daughter of the late Clement and Leona (Keller) Schubert.
Sister Agnes Lucille entered the Sisters of St. Francis at Stella Niagara September 8, 1940 and was professed August 18, 1942.
She received her Bachelor's degree in 1955 from Rosary Hill (Daemen) College, Buffalo, NY and her Master's and PhD from Ohio University in 1974.
Sister Agnes Lucille's ministry began in Ohio and continued for many years, as she served in Columbus, New Lexington and Athens, Ohio; New Monmouth and Atlantic Highlands, NJ; Charleston, WVa; and Buffalo and Gowanda, NY. She taught different elementary grades as well as college level courses.
In 1994, Sister Agnes Lucille moved to Stella Niagara where she was a driver for the sisters and later managed the campus store. She enjoyed her retirement, working on the computer, making cards and signs for the sisters and playing games and cards.
She was an avid reader and also joined a watercolor painting class and wii-bowling.
She moved to the Health Center in 2016 and continued many of her favorite activities, including rosary making.
Sister is survived by two sisters: Frances (Norbert) Poorman and Annrose (Richard) Freeman and many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as her Sisters in Community.
She was the sister of the late Loretta (Richard) Schifferle, Sister Mary Rosamond Schubert, OSF, Clement F. Schubert, Rev. Clarence C. Schubert, SJ and Sister Mary Clement Schubert, OSF.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Interment at Stella Niagara Cemetery.
