Sonya Clause

Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday,  November, 1 2025, in Niagara Hospice House.  A member of the Tuscarora Nation,  Bear Clan, she was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 3, 1936, daughter of the late Sandy and Myra [Chew] Maracle.

Mrs. Clause attended the Tuscarora School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School and Niagara County Community College.

She was a direct support professional with Opportunities Unlimited, (Empower) with over 20 years before retiring in 2000.

Mrs. Clause was a member and Past President of FOE Eagles.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling and going to the Casino.

Mrs. Clause was the wife of the late Kenneth J. Clause, Sr., who passed away in 1999.

She is survived by her children Gail (Dave), Norman A. (Theresa) Clause, Beth (late William) Aquino, Matthew (Melissa), Kevin, and Cheri Clause, her brother Sandy (Heather) Maracle, also 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, also several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Markland and Kenneth J. Clause, Jr.

Her family will be present on Wednesday from 3-7 PM  at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where the funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM,  with the Rev. Donald Robinson officiating.

Memorials may be made in her name to Niagara Hospice.

Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery on the Tuscarora Nation.
