Steven J. Stepien
Of Youngstown, NY, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, May 10, 1958, a son of the late Chester and Mary [Capitan] Stepien.
Steve graduated from Lew-Port in 1976 where he played football and had also attended Niagara University.
He worked with the family business, the Country Kernel for many years. Steve was a landscaper for over 45 years and owned and operated Down to Earth Landscaping and Gardening.
He enjoyed his yearly vacation to Hawaii and partaking in adventures with his children from the East to West Coasts and many places in between.
Steve is survived by his children Richard (Eva) Stepien and Janelle (Eric) Tower, two grandchildren Edison and Arlo Tower, two sisters Patricia (Dr. John) Clark and Mary (Kevin) Gilman, two brothers-in-law Thomas A. Hodick and John Ruffino, his former wife Renee M. Topolski, one niece, five nephews and a grand niece, also many relatives and good friends.
He was the brother of the late Constance Hodick, Joseph Stepien and Carolyn Ruffino.
His family will be present on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 4-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY. Everyone is invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 9:00 AM at St. Bernard's Church, 218 Hinman Street, Youngstown, NY.
