Valerie J. Swanson

Of the Town of Porter, passed away on  Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Kenmore Mercy Hospital, surrounded by her family.  

She was a member of the Eel Clan of the Onondaga Nation, she was born in Niagara Falls , NY on February 2, 1950, a daughter of the late Dallas and Oralle [Johnson] Wilson.

Valerie was a 1968 graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School.

She was an LPN for over 30 years at Fairchild Manor in Lewiston.

Valerie enjoyed spending time with her family.

 She is survived by her husband of 56 years James F. Swanson, her children James Swanson, Vanessa (John) Antone, Kristen and Marsha Swanson, six grandchildren Brooke, Maxwell (Christa), Deidre, Dalton, Jacob and Kendra, a great grandchild on the way, her siblings Kevin (Suzy), Barry (Sue Ellen), Lance Wilson, Corinne (Joseph) Jamieson, Annette Wilson and Melinda Clause, sister-in-law of Bea Harris and Alvin John, also many nieces and nephews.

She was the grandmother of the late Zachary Antone, sister of the late Dallas Wilson, Janelle John and Joel Wilson.

Private funeral services will be held at the wishes of her family.
