Venkateswara Rao Kolli, MD on Sunday March 29, 2020, Dr. Venkateswara Rao Kolli, a loving father, son, and surgeon passed away at the age of 54. Venkat was born on May 8, 1965 in Guntur, India to Gangadhar and Sharada (Narla) Kolli.
He raised three sons, Ajay, Amit, and Amar.
After training in New York City, Dr. Kolli practiced surgery in the Niagara Falls area for over two decades, serving as the Chief of Surgery at NFMMC. Through his work, he touched the lives of both patients and colleagues, who were always complimentary of his compassionate spirit, leadership, and generosity.
While he had many hobbies including woodworking, photography, and motorcycle riding, one interest stood out among the rest: Venkat had a passion for food. He loved to travel the country and world exploring new cuisines, though it was always difficult to find a dish better than one he himself could cook. He shared this passion with his sons, with whom he cooked and traveled often.
Venkat was preceded by his brother, Mahidhar, and father, Gangadhar.
He is survived by his mother, Sharada; his brother, Sekhar; his sons, Ajay, Amit, and Amar; his partner Gretchen; and many other family members, friends, and loved ones.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
Memorials in his name can be made to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
