Vivian E. LeBlanc, also known fondly as “Aunt Bib,” “Nana” and “Nanny,” quietly passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Vivian was born in Blandburg, PA, on September 28, 1926, the daughter of the late Elmer and Inez [Cavalet] Briggs of Dean, PA. She moved to Niagara Falls in the early 1940's.
Vivian was an active member of St. Raphael’s (formerly St. Teresa’s) Parish for more than half a century. She attended daily mass even in the worst winter weather, served as a Eucharistic minister, organized and prepared meals on behalf of the Bereavement Committee, and contributed her delicious chili to the church bazaars. Together Vivian and her husband, Arthur, managed the food pantry and delivered food to people in need even as they both reached their nineties. Vivian also served as President of a local 50 Plus Club for many years. She was very proud to receive both the “St. Joseph’s Worker Award” and the Tops “Good Neighbor Award”.
Vivian cherished her family, friends, cooking, baking, shopping and most of all talking! She loved the house that Arthur built, their amazing roses, birds and evergreen trees. She enjoyed singing, playing records, and dancing. Vivian remembered every holiday by sending greeting cards to family and friends far and near. She also especially loved handing out treat bags at Halloween and everything about Christmas.
Vivian was the wife of 72 years to the late Arthur E. LeBlanc, who passed away in February of 2018.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Hayes and Robyn (Harry) Proctor, three grandchildren Dana Hayes, Todd (Kristen) Hayes and James (Rebekah) Proctor, two great grandchildren William and Adeline Hayes, a sister Irene Hertzog, and many nieces and nephews.
Vivian was predeceased by three sisters Lorraine Matish, Johanna Lingenfelder, and Dorothy Passanita.
We were all blessed by her presence! She will be loved and missed forever!
Vivian and Arthur were grateful for all the friends and relatives that crossed their paths and helped them throughout the years.
All are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday May 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Raphael's Parish, 3840 Macklem Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
Inurnment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at the wishes of her family.
Memorials may be made in her name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
