Vivian Simmons
Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at her home under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. She was born in Georgiana, Al, on July 30, 1950, a daughter of the late John and Annie Mae [Knight] Crittenden.
Vivian moved to Niagara Falls with her family in 1956 and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School,
She was a telephone operator with New York Telephone and Union Carbide for many years.
Vivian was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and enjoyed playing BINGO and cooking.
She is survived by three sisters Veola (late Curtis) Harris, Vera P. (late Ernest) McFadden, Annie (companion of Michael Sturdivant) Willis, a brother Arnold Crittenden, a special uncle Walter Ray [ Bean ] Crittenden, also she leaves to cherish her memory, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
She was predeceased by her step mother Reabie Mae (Fifer) Crittenden and was the sister of the late William Crittenden, Eddie (Maxine) Patterson and former wife of the late William Simmons.
Her family will be present on Saturday from 10:30-11:30 AM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, NIAGARA FALLS, 1124 Ontario Avenue, where funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM.
Interment in Riverdale Cemetery.
