Walter R. Blount

Of the Town of Pendleton, NY passed away on Tuesday April 1, 2025, in Niagara Hospice House.  He was born on August 19, 1944 in North Tonawanda, NY, a son of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Nipper) Blount.

Mr. Blount was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School and Buffalo State.

He was an engineer with Columbus McKinnon for over 40 years, until his retirement.

Mr. Blount was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time at his beloved cabin.

He is survived by his wife Sondra (Rafferty) Blount, they were married on May 2, 1964, son James (Marlene) Blount, two grand daughters  Abby and Lindsey  Blount, a brother Raymond (late Rita) Blount, also several nieces and nephews.    

He was the brother of the late Leroy (late Linda) Blount.

His family will be present on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 3:30-7:00 PM at RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where services follow at 7:00 PM, with the Rev. Ronald Lord officiating.
