Walter G. "Wally" Dean

Of Niagara Falls, NY,  passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY.  He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 2, 1950, a son of the late Walter and  Louise [DeDario] Dean.

Wally was a graduate of Bishop Duffy and received two associate degrees from Niagara County Community College, a Bachelor of Science and his Masters in Science and engineering from Buffalo State.  Wally has been an adjunct instructor at Niagara County Community Community College from 1999 through 2020.  He was in the Computer/Technology department and taught computer hardware and software.  He was also employed by the New York Power Authority as a Mechanic, Planner, Labor Consultant and finally, an undefined position led by a guy who could not find his ass with both hands, until his retirement in 2009.

Wally was a member of Mensa and was actively involved in youth sports where he was known as Coach "Papa".

He was an avid Bills, Sabres and Yankees fan. 

His biggest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Wally is survived by his wife of 50 years Jane S. [Reed]  Dean, his children Bryan (Stacey) Dean and Jennifer (Gary) Huchzermeier, four grandchildren Kyle and Kendall Dean and Amelia and Sofia Huchzermeier, two brothers Anthony (Mary Jo) Dean and Lawrence Dean, his niece and god daughter Krista Dean, also many nephews and good friends.

He was the brother of the late Teresa Dean.

Private funeral services will be held at the wishes of his family.

Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY  14094.
