William L. Alberts of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, in Kenmore Mercy Hospital. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 6, 1942 the son of the late John and Verna May [Ward] Alberts.
Mr. Alberts graduated from both Niagara Falls High School and Buffalo State Teachers College.
He served with the National Guard.
Mr. Alberts was a supervisor with Harrison Radiator in Lockport and had worked at the New York State Power Authority before becoming a substitute teacher with the Lewiston-Porter School District.
He was actively involved with the Bible Presbyterian Church in Grand Island. Mr. Alberts enjoyed spreading the word of the Lord, working on cars, along with NASCAR, gardening and reading the Bible. He was well known to his students as Mr. "A".
Mr. Alberts is survived by the love of his life and caring wife, Mary L. [Bierly] Alberts, his granddaughter Dana (Patrick) Hollingsworth, three great grandchildren Gabriela, Dominic and Mia, two sisters Marilyn E. (late Stan) Herowski and Karen L. (Joseph) King, also many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alberts was the father of the late William L. Stogner and brother of the late John Alberts.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Bible Presbyterian Church, 1650 Love Road, Grand Island, NY, with the Rev. Kevin M. Backus officiating.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Bible Presbyterian Church.
