My condolences to Mary's family. She was a lovely lady who I go to know for a very short time.

Mary was a wonderful, kind and remarkable woman. My mother, Mary Louise Buckley Gallagher. was her dear friend and classmate. Together, they attended Sacred Heart School, St.Mary's High School and St. Mary's Nursing School. They learned to be nurses during World War II and were called upon to work long hours because so many nurses were involved in the war effort. My mother was most proud when Mary became Dr. Dineen. Mary was a pioneer in nursing education and her contributions to Niagara University on the staff of the Nursing School and later on the Board of Trustees were extraordinary. My thoughts and prayers for all her family, especially her niece Nora and her husband Gary McMullin who kept me up on Mary's achievements during our years in Michigan. R.I.P.

I graduated in 1961 from NUCN. Miss Dineen was our acting Dean of Nursing and was a wonderful role model with a hearty sense of humor. While affiliating in Buffalo, a few of the class of '61 were discussing her in a local watering hole and it seems one of the listeners was someone she had been a babysitter for. She loved to tease us about this.
She was a credit to her profession and I am proud to have known her and appreciated the respectful way she treated we students as women.

Please accept my deepest at the loss of "Dean Mary Dineen" . I worked with Mary during a dynamic time of growth and Change at Boston College School of Nurising . Her presence as a leader, mentor and friend was something I always treasured. Her vision and direction along with her encouragement during the early years of my career has always stayed with me. Mary was a someone who understood nursing and since her tenure as Dean the school has continued to grow as a national leader in Nursing education. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. Thank you Mary for everything. Dottie Jones

We'll miss Mary's wit and humor, fascinating stories, and sharp intellect, as well as her kindness. She always told us, "Be good to yourselves." Wishing you joy forever in God's loving embrace, Mary Agnes, and a grand welcome from the loved ones who await you.
