Effie Lee Wilson, passed away on June 3, 2014 at Ridgecrest Healthcare located in Phoenix, Arizona after a long illness.
She was born in Greenville, Alabama on February 25 1950, the daughter of Ida Belle [Kent] (Quinton) Smith of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Dock Perry.
Effie spent most of her childhood in Greenville and Montgomery AL. At the age of sixteen, she move to Montclair, New Jersey to be with her Mother . At the age of 18, Effie met and later married Sylvester Morgan. The young couple had had four children.
In 1979 Effie and her children moved to Niagara Falls, NY and later that year Effie decided to move to California with Louis Wilson whom she had met in New Jersey and were married in 1981.
Although she did not have an opportunity to complete school during her teen years, Effie never gave up on her goal of getting her high school diploma. She signed up at the local college and received the necessary credits to receive a high school diploma. Later in life she also completed a Medical Billing Program.
While living in Los Angeles, Effie worked in the office of a Building Supply company as a contractor coordinator and schedular and later worked for a HVAC company as a billing and payroll administer.
Effie loved listening to her records and dancing as if no one was watching. In addition to this, she would go on to develop a love for fine perfumes and beautiful porcelain dolls. With inspiration from her best friend Diana, Effie not only learn how to sew, but years later would start making beautiful cloth dolls for personal enjoyment and to give as gifts.
In addition to her mother and husband Effie is survived by four children Keith Morgan of Bear, DE, Patrick Morgan of Tarzana, CA, Sylvester Morgan, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY and Monique, one grandson and two granddaughters. She was the sister of Mini Pearl Kent and Addie Jene Perry Jerome Perry, Brock Perry and Quinton Smith, Jr., cousins James Edward Kent, Sally Gosco and Ellen Betterson, she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the wife of the late Sylvester Morgan and sister of the late Albert Perry.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 1:00 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Ave, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, with the Rev. Dr. Charles A. Searcy officiating.
