Hilda C. Keller, 94, of Wheatfield, NY, and formerly a resident of Niagara Avenue, died Tuesday January 2, 2007, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.

A woman who always took pride in her appearance and liked to keep up with the latest fashion styles, Mrs. Keller also loved animals and enjoyed spending her time gardening and with family and friends. Born Hilda Cook in Niagara Falls, the daughter of the late John and Anna Durk Cook, she attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1930. She worked for the Ration Board during World War II and was later employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Co. from 1945 to 1975. It was there she met her husband, Leland Keller, who died in 1996.

Aunt Hilda, as she was known, is survived by sister-in-law Evelyn Keller and nieces Kay [ John ]Skowronek and Kerrie [ Vincent ] Piaskowski, all of Niagara Falls, and by nephew, Russell Kay of Worcester, Mass. Also by great-nephews Dr. Kevin [ Caryn ] Skowronek, Vincent Paul [ fianc? Loretta Kennedy ] Piaskowski, Brian Skowronek, Rob Piaskowski, and Alexander Kay; great-niece Alicia Verlager; and great-great-niece Camryn Skowronek, cousins, Robert [ Doreen ] Seiler, of Toronto; Douglas [ Sara ] Seiler, of Texas. She was a very dear friend of Helen and Don Clark of Lewiston, NY.

She was the sister of the late Edna Cook and niece of the late John Durk.

Visitation will be at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, LEWISTON, Cayuga and South Ninth Street, FROM 4 ? 8 PM, Thursday, January 4, 2006 where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 AM, with Pastor Ron Maines officiating, with interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls.
