Walter M. Taylor, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013, in Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Lipton, TN on October 5, 1942, a son of the late Jessie James and Blanchie Lee (Dye) Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was employed with General Motors for over 30 years, first in the Buffalo, NY and was later transferred to GM's DeFiance plant in Ohio, before retiring in 1987. He moved to Niagara Falls in 1978. After his retirement from GM he became a school bus driver with Laid Law for 5 years. He was a member of the Elk's Sunset Lodge and enjoyed spending with his family and friends, watching Westerns on TV and playing cards.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 35 years Celestine [Mathis] Taylor, one son, Anderson Hill, three grandchildren LaRonda Hill, Angela Hill and Anderson Hill, III, three great grandchildren Daysjuan Hill, Johnnie Davis, III and Imari Davis all of Niagara Falls, NY, two sisters, Deborah M. (Ronald) Carothers of Chicago, IL and Valerie (Robert) Moore of Hazelcrest, IL, an aunt Bertha Adams. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will be present on Friday, from 11-12:00 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, followed by funeral services at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Searcy officiating.
Interment at Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
