Was sorry to hear of George's passing. Uncle Rut as we knew him ,and Aunt Julia along with Leighton and young George would pay us a visit every summer for a week or so , back to the farm where all the George Armitage family were raised.. Georgie as we called him and I had a lot of good times back then. Great memories

Dear Marijean and family,
I was sad to hear of George's recent passing. Hearing his name mentioned brought so many happy memories of your family's visits to my office. I pray that memories of happier days bring you much comfort God Bless. Robert Bull

Marijean & Family, George was my Commanding Officer in the Accounting & Finance Department at Niagara Falls Air Force Base during the Berlin Crisis in 1961-1962. I was engaged to be married on July 1, 1962 in Westchester, NY. Not only did George approve my leave time, but he also offered to use his required flight time to fly me to the White Plains Airport for my wedding. On Friday, June 29 I showed up with my tux bag and suitcase to be greeted by George informing me that the base CO (Colonel Blewett?) wanted to get in his flight time that evening and that George had been relegated to co-pilot. Col. Blewett had no desire to fly all the way to Westchester, but George convinced him to make the trip for my sake. There's more to the story but needless to say I have been, and will always be, grateful to George for his generosity willingness to stand up to his CO in order to get me to my wedding. May you find peace in his blessed memeory. Don Kohnstamm
